We have looked at the first four trumpet judgments. These judgments have fallen in quick sucession, the earth that Satan said he could manage and was given over into his hands is quickly reduced to rubble!

In verse 12, it says that a third part of the sun was smitten, and the day shone not for a third part of it, what is that all about? Theodore Epp says, "In one short action God reduces the day from 24 hours to 16 hours. Only God could do that. God demonstrates His control over the universe to those who refuse to even acknowledge Him. This reduction of the hours of daylight explains Matthew 24:22. "And except those days should be shortened, there should be no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened".

God has said that the great tribulation period will be 3 1/2 years, 42 months, 1260 days. How can the tribulation period be shortened without breaking God's Word? Shortening the days and the nights by 1/3 would shorten the 3 1/2 years by 1/3, without reducing the number of years, months or days.

The four trumpet judgments will be fearsome and awesome, and yet the worst is yet to come!

"And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!" (verse 13). Three more trumpets are to be sounded, these are called the woe trumpets, "Woe to the inhabiters of the earth".

Peter says in 2 Peter 3:4, "...Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation". Now things do not continue as they were from the beginning of creation! For millenia God has allowed sin and evil to run its course! One day the Lord will bring an end to sin and evil in awful judgment upon the world of men, that day is called, "The Day of the Lord".

We need to remind ourselves that God is in charge of the earth and all things. David wrote,"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork." The destroyed earth of the tribulation period displays the emptiness and wickedness of Satan. Satan bragged that he would exhalt his throne above the stars of God and that he would like the most high. God gave him an opportunity to rule over the earth and now he is shown to be an utter failure. Satan will be to the praise of the glory of the justice of God for all of eternity as he suffers the judgment of God in the fires of hell.

Let us be up and doing for the master while we have opportunity. Let us rescue the perishing by proclaiming the gospel far and wide.

Monitoring Everyone & Everything - Expanding use of License Plate Readers

US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) published a new assessment titled "Privacy Impact Assessment for the CBP License Plate Reader Technology," outlining the agency's plan to combine its database on license plate images with ones from local and state governments, law enforcement agencies, parking garages, toll booth cameras, and financial institutions.

The US has a massive network of automatic license plate readers (ALPR), typically found on police cars and toll booths used to collect license plates of vehicles passing by.

We noted one database, in particular, called the Rekor Public Safety Network (RPSN), gives law enforcement real-time access to license plates, captures approximately 150 million plate reads per month.

To better protect the nation, the CBP's new assessment indicates it now wants direct access to these databases.

"To meet its vast mission requirements, CBP relies on a variety of law enforcement tools and techniques for law enforcement and border security," the assessment said.

"One such tool is license plate reader (LPR) technology, which consists of high-speed cameras and related equipment mounted on vehicles or in fixed locations that automatically and without direct human control locate, focus on, and photograph license plates and vehicles that come into range of the device."

CBP said most Americans "might not be aware" that ALPRs are deployed at border crossings to collect license plate information. The agency said people should avoid areas where ALPRs are deployed if they don't want to be surveilled.

The system will allow CBP agents to quickly enter a license plate number of a vehicle in the database and search for "any responsive records" (or hits) on any license plate readers that detected the vehicle within the last 30 days.

The assessment said the overall goal of the new database, by aggregating third-party data with its own, will allow agents to "identify individuals, or vehicles, involved in criminal activity which may need additional scrutiny when attempting to cross the border or to identify and locate suspects involved in terrorist activities."

The federal government's obsession with monitoring everyone and everything is becoming the norm in a post-corona world.

There is no source of encouragement more fruitful of help than the co-witness and co-working of the Holy Spirit. Those who are filled with the Spirit are called into communion, i.e., partnership, with Him in His work. Whilst they work from the outside, He works from within; whilst they sow the seed, He waters it abundantly. We must be very careful to be such in character and teaching that He may cooperate with us. Our hands must be very clean, if He, with an infinite condescension, is to grant signs and wonders to be wrought by them. But when we work with Him, and He with us, the results are beyond measure astonishing, and His alone.

Everything seemed to be in vain, and many said the mission was useless. Deus habet horas et moras, says the old proverb. God has His seasons and delays. We do not at once see the result of our sowings, toils, and tears; but we are conscious that our work is with our God - we know that we have our petitions, and we rejoice in hope. We must go on uttering "the word of His grace " - the grace that chooses such rebels to be His children; that cleanses them from sin; that restores and keeps and sanctifies.

To all the wealthy, liberal elites who are cheering on the protests and riots, a word of warning is in order. The same holds true for the conservative Christians who are lining up to show their support for the BLM movement. To each of you I say: Do not be deceived. The cancel culture will soon be coming for you.

A few weeks ago, I read about a TV sports journalist who tweeted his support for rioters in a nearby city. "Burn that s-- down. Burn it all down," he tweeted with glee.

Later that same day, as the mob marched towards his private neighborhood, his tone had changed. He called them animals and -- get this -- noted how the crowds scattered when the police arrived. How ironic! The cry to defund the police lasts only so long.

Amazon's Jeff Bezos is the latest to face the wrath of the mob.

As Breitbart reported, "According to a number of videos posted to social media, protesters in DC placed a model guillotine in front of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos' Washington complex. A flyer for the event stated 'End the abuse and profiteering. Abolish the police, the prisons, and Amazon.'"

And note that, "Alongside the guillotine was a sign reading 'support our poor communities, not our wealthy men.'"

Oh, yes the guillotine once again. As in off with your head. As in CHOP.

Conservative web host Drew Hernandez posted another video in which a DC protester said, "when they become threatened, and we have no voice, the knives come out." And the protester delivered these comments while standing in front of the guillotine.

All clear on the meaning of "knives"!

It's true that Bezos has come under attack for allegedly taking advantage of Amazon employees.

But Bezos is also famously liberal. He is the owner of the leftist Washington Post. In 2012, he pledged $2.5 million to support same-sex "marriage" in Washington State. And the award winning transgender comedy series, Transparent, was produced by and aired on Amazon.

But Bezos is also rich. Very rich. And that makes him a target. After "defund the police," it will probably be "defund the rich." (In Beverly Hills Sunday BLM protesters were actually chanting "eat the rich.")

Cancel Culture Comes for Canceling Writer

Jemele Hill has also felt the wrath of the culture-cancelling mob. (Hill formerly worked for ESPN and is now a writer for the Atlantic.) But 10 years ago -- yes, a decade ago -- she cracked some jokes on Twitter that were considered transphobic and homophobic.

Yet as Breibart notes, "This is the same Jemele Hill who several years later went hammer and tong against Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Josh Hader for racist and homophobic tweets he posted when he was a kid in high school.

"In her screed against Hader and those who supported him in 2018, Hill sneered, 'Realize that when you chalk Hader's remarks up to youth and immaturity or worse, and give him an over-the-top applause for God knows what, you're simultaneously telling the people hurt by his remarks that their feelings of resentment and skepticism don't matter.'"

Now, Hill is being targeted by the Twitter crowd, with comments like this: "Time's up. We are coming for every last one of you [expletives] right now. No more playing nice, we played by your rules, now you get to, and I've been waiting for this one for a long time now.

The BLM Movement Will Turn Against Supporters Who Don't Affirm Trangenderism and Pride

Sounds like a scene straight out of Animal Farm. What goes around, comes around. You cancel one day, you get canceled the next.

This is especially important for conservative Christians to grasp, since we want to be on the front lines of racial reconciliation and since we reject racism as sin. And, understanding the significance of the phrase to our black brothers and sisters, we want to shout out, "Yes, black lives do matter."

They fail to realize that some of the very people they are trying to impress are the same ones who will turn on them in an instant the moment they take a strong stand for biblical values.

Many black Christians also want to stand arm in arm with their friends and colleagues who have joined together with the BLM movement.

But that movement is, at base, a Marxist-driven, LGBTQ-affirming, anti-Christian movement. And if you will not affirm transgender activism and march for Queer Pride, the knives will soon come out for you. I mean that both figuratively and literally.

You have been forewarned.

I find it even more disturbing when Christian leaders across the nation fall over each other in their zeal to prove their wokeness. They fail to realize that some of the very people they are trying to impress are the same ones who will turn on them in an instant the moment they take a strong stand for biblical values
