Qatar, which has been blamed for stirring up much of the violence in the Middle East and is a well-known backer of the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas, reportedly expelled some members of the Muslim Brotherhood from its territory.

The Associated Press (AP) reported on Saturday that leaders of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood and allied clerics said they are departing Qatar, where they had sought refuge following the ouster of Egypt's Islamist President Mohammed Morsi and the crackdown on his supporters.

Their presence in Qatar had severely strained Doha's relations with Egypt as well as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, all of which view the more than 85-year-old Islamist movement as a threat.

The governments of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates withdrew their ambassadors from Qatar in June, in protest over Qatar's support for the Muslim Brotherhood.

The expulsion of the Brotherhood’s senior officials threatens to further isolate the group, which rose to power in Egypt through a string of post-Arab Spring elections but suffered a dramatic fall from grace during Morsi's divisive year in office.

Former minister Amr Darrag, who was also the top foreign affairs official in the Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party, and cleric Wagdi Ghoneim said they are leaving Qatar following a request to do so by the Gulf monarchy, according to AP.

"I decided to move outside of the beloved Qatar ... so as not to cause any annoyance, embarrassment or problems for our brothers in Qatar," Ghoneim said in a video message posted on his official Facebook page.

Darrag, in a statement posted on his page, said, "We value the role of Qatar in supporting the Egyptian people in its revolution against the coup. We understand well the conditions it is facing in the region."

The highest ranking member of the group residing in Qatar is Mahmoud Hussein, the secretary general of the Muslim Brotherhood. According to Rassd, a news agency affiliated with the group, Hussein is among those who will be leaving the country. The agency said they will be searching for another base in exile, possibly Turkey.

There have been several high-profile calls to stop Qatar from hosting the World Cup in 2022 until it ceases its funding of terrorism, including by Israeli Economy Minister Naftali Bennett.

Last week, Egypt charged Morsi and several other people with endangering national security by leaking state secrets and sensitive documents to Qatar.

The Cairo public prosecutor's office said its secret investigation had unearthed enough evidence of espionage to charge Morsi in a criminal court.

Obama: the U.S. Stands Shoulder to Shoulder With Close Ally UK

President Barack Obama said Sunday that the US strongly condemns the barbaric murder of UK citizen David Haines and offers condolences. ““The United States stands shoulder to shoulder tonight with our close friend and ally in grief and resolve. We will work with the United Kingdom and a broad coalition of nations from the region and around the world to bring the perpetrators of this outrageous act to justice, and to degrade and destroy this threat to the people of our countries, the region and the world,” Obama said in a statement.
Prime Minister David Cameron called the murder “an act of pure evil” and pledged “everything in our power to hunt these murderers and ensure they face justice. We will maintain and continually reinforce our counter-terrorism efforts.” Despite the strong words from the British PM, Foreign Secretary Hammond ruled out Britain joining the US in carrying out air strikes against Syria.

The video ISIS released Saturday of the beheading of the British aid worker included a threat to kill a second British hostage.

Around 930 French citizens or residents, including at least 60 women, are either actively engaged in jihad in Iraq and Syria or are planning to go there, the interior minister said Sunday.

In an interview with Le Journal de Dimanche weekly, Bernard Cazeneuve said: "930 French citizens or foreigners usually resident in France are today involved in jihad in Iraq and Syria."

According to the minister, "350 are on the ground, including 60 women. Around 180 have left from Syria and 170 are en route for the zone."

In addition, some 230 people are looking to head to areas held by jihadists. Added to this total of 930, an estimated 36 have already died out there, said Cazeneuve.

Western governments have voiced concern about the possibility of their citizens joining Islamic State terrorists in Iraq and Syria and then returning home to commit atrocities.

The man who carried out the apparent beheading of British aid worker David Haines speaks with a British accent; he is believed to be the same jihadi who appeared in the beheadings of American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff.

Cazeneuve said that some returning jihadists boast about what they have done and "say they are ready to leave again."

"Others, destroyed by the violence and atrocities they saw or participated in, say they no longer want to be involved."

"Some claim to have left on a humanitarian mission, but we have reliable information that they fought in jihadist ranks," explained the minister.

He announced that "at least 70" people had been prevented from leaving after authorities received around 350 alerts about possible jihadists.

This included around 80 minors and 150 women.

France has created a law aimed at stopping aspiring jihadists from travelling, which includes a ban on foreign travel of up to six months for individuals suspected of radicalisation and gives authorities powers to temporarily confiscate and invalidate their passports.

In a recent parliamentary report, France had previously estimated that 950 suspected of engaging in jihad.

Asked about Frenchman Mehdi Nemmouche, suspected of killing four people at Brussels' Jewish Museum in May, Cazeneuve said: "The perversity of the terrorist jihadist system means that you do not necessarily have to receive a mission to carry out a terrorist act."

"When people are psychologically destroyed by daily acts of extreme violence, decapitations or other acts of barbarism, all their moral values fall, all their points of reference are wiped out."

The officer said that the IDF has prepared contingency plans to evacuate border populations at risk.

God Will Not Play Along with Adam

Thought For The Week
A. W. Tozer
Categories: Commentary;Warning

There is a great need for us to learn the truths of the sovereignty of God and the Lordship of Christ.

God will not play along with Adam; Christ will not be "used" by any of Adam's selfish brood.

We had better learn these things fast if this generation of young Christians is to be spared the supreme tragedy of following a Christ who is merely a Christ of convenience and not the true Lord of glory at all!

I confess to a feeling of uneasiness about this when I observe the questionable things Christ is said to do for people these days. He is often recommended as a wonderfully obliging but not too discriminating Big Brother who delights to help us to accomplish our ends, and who further favors us by forbearing to ask any embarrassing questions about the moral and spiritual qualities of those ends.

In our eagerness to lead men to "accept" Christ we are often tempted to present for acceptance a Christ who is little more than a caricature of "that holy thing" which was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, to be crucified and rise the third day to take His place on the right hand of the Majesty in the heavens.

The whole purpose of God in redemption is to make us holy and to restore us to the image of God! To accomplish this, He disengages us from earthly ambitions and draws us away from the cheap and unworthy prizes that worldly men set their hearts upon. Phil. 2:5 A.W.Tozer

German Leaders to Rally Fight Against Anti - Semitism At Protest

German Chancellor Angela Merkel

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Jewish leaders will speak Sunday at a Berlin rally against anti-Semitism after the latest Gaza conflict sparked an upsurge in hate crimes against Jews.

Under the banner "Stand Up: Jew Hatred - Never Again!" political and religious leaders and thousands of people are expected at the rally from 1300 GMT at the iconic Brandenburg Gate.

The event, also to be attended by German President Joachim Gauck, coincides with a meeting in the capital of the World Jewish Congress (WJC), whose president Ronald S. Lauder is among the speakers.

It comes 75 years after the outbreak of World War II, during which Nazi Germany murdered six million Jews, a crime that remains a source of enduring shame in the country.

Germany's Jewish community in July, at the height of the fighting between Israel and terrorists in Gaza, condemned an "explosion of evil and violent hatred of Jews" at pro-Palestinian rallies where some demonstrators chanted that Jews should be "gassed".

The spate of ugly incidents that deeply unsettled Germany's resurgent 200,000-strong Jewish community also saw a petrol bomb hurled at the facade of a synagogue in the western city of Wuppertal. Three people, described as "Palestinian" nationals, have been arrested in connection to that attack.

In one other chilling incident caught on camera, throngs of mostly young Muslims were filmed chanting openly violent, anti-Semitic chants at an anti-Israel rally.

Levi Salomon of the Jewish Forum for Democracy and Against Anti-Semitism said that after "outrageously anti-Semitic" chants drew widespread political and media condemnation, rally organizers merely shifted their language from attacking "Jews" to "Zionists".

Although the street protests were dominated by young Muslim men, Salomon pointed out in an essay, they also drew support from an alliance of "neo-Nazis, Israel-boycott activists, left anti-imperialist and Islamist groups under the banner of hatred".

"The trigger for the flare-up of anti-Semitism was the escalation in the Middle East, but the cause was the anti-Semitism that remains rooted in large parts of German society," he wrote.

'Dark 20th century history'

Merkel, in her latest weekly podcast, vowed to "personally do everything I can - as will my entire government - to ensure that anti-Semitism doesn't have a chance in our country".

But the chancellor - who has won Israel's highest civilian honor for her efforts against anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial - stressed that "we've got a lot of work ahead of us".

"We can see that there is not a single Jewish institution here that doesn't require police protection... That's something that very much concerns me."

Her government, including Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, has urged citizens to show up and lend their support in great numbers.

"Unfortunately, recent weeks have shown that anti-Semitism and racism rear its ugly head again and again in this country despite our dark 20th century history," Steinmeier told newspaper the Ruhr Nachrichten. "We must resolutely confront this."

He added that he wished events like the rally were not necessary and called for a sustained societal effort against anti-Semitism "on the other 364 days" of the year.

Prominent personalities and media have also joined in the campaign.

A commentary in mass-circulation daily Bild said: "Stand up! Banish Anti-Semitism forever! By joining forces on Sunday at the Brandenburg Gate we will send a clear message against hatred towards Jews. Enough is enough! Anti-Semitism has no place in Germany!"

The publisher of Bild, Axel Springer, is marking the event with a 180-square-metre (2,000-square-foot) light installation on the facade of its Berlin headquarters that says "Speak out! Never again hatred of Jews".

Anti-Semitism throughout Europe reached record highs during the past few months as incitement and attacks against Jews - mostly led by Muslim the extremists, but also elements from the far-right and far-left - left Jewish communities throughout the continent in a state of shock.

In France, where anti-Semitism is already worryingly commonplace, the number of anti-Semitic incidents in the first half of 2014 was double that of the same period last year. In the UK, anti-Semitism during that same period rose by a staggering 400% compared to 2013.

Experts Say Jordan in Danger - and Israel's Next in Line

In a new article, Professor Arnon Sofer, head of the Chaikin Chair of Geo-Strategy at the University of Haifa, and Anton Berkovsky discuss the danger of immigration from the turmoil-filled Arab states to Israel.

"Countries in the Middle East are currently in states of internal and external war, pressing the State of Israel to prepare for waves of immigrants from Arab countries to Israeli territory, which may endanger her existence," they wrote.

According to Sofer and Berkovsky, the waves of immigrants already constitute a real danger to the future of Jordan. The worst case scenario being the movement of ISIS into Jordan, and subsequently creating a pure "Islamic State" within the country.

According to the data presented in the article, 2013 showed a record number of immigrants in the world - more than 232 million people, or about 3.2% of the world's population. Professor Sofer suggests that the Middle East presents a unique picture. "Within 30 years (1950-1980), the population doubled, and in the next 30 years (1980-2010), the population doubled again. This is one of the main reasons why the demographics, economics, and politics of the Middle East have resulted in disorder and instability."  Sofer added that climate changes which led to severe water shortages in areas like North East Syria near the border with Turkey and Iraq, should also be taken into account.

Sofer argues that the events of the Arab Spring, the Civil War in Syria, and repeated crises in Iraq, have already created waves of refugees, resulting in demographic changes in the population map that are beyond recognition. According to estimates, following the Civil War in Syria, 3-4 million people became refugees outside of Syria, and another 8 million have become refugees in their own homeland. Wars between the various factions in Iraq have led to 750 thousand refugees, who have already left Iraq - mainly to Jordan, and another 3 million refugees inside Iraq. These refugees, who flood into neighboring countries cause societal changes that threaten the stability of such countries.

The most troubling possibility is Jordan. A million to a million and a half refugees from Iraq and Syria have become part of the population of 6.5 million citizens of Jordan. The Palestinian population rate decreased from 70% to about 60% of the total population, according to the study, while the percentage of Syrian refugees is estimated between 8%-15%.

"The Jordan of 2014 presents a new ethnic mosaic, and the national dynamic has completely changed. It should be remembered that some of the refugees are intruders from extremist groups, such as ISIS. Other refugees are in such a terrible situation that it is easy for such radical groups to recruit them " noted Professor Sofer.

Sofer suggests three possibilities: The first, and optimistic approach - allowing massive Western aid to maintain Jordan's stability; The second - The collapse of the kingdom and the outbreak of civil war, similar to the situation in Syria. In this scenario, Sofer envisions the Palestinians trying to take over the kingdom and establish a Palestinian state; The third and most dangerous option is for ISIS to take over large parts of the country thereby joining Jordan to their Sunni caliphate. The last two possibilities will cause hundreds of thousands of additional refugees to the Middle East.

According to Prof. Sofer, if such events materialize and instability grows, there is a real danger to Israel. Not only would it mean the existence of unstable regimes, extreme and hostile, close to its borders, but also the fact that a considerable portion of the hundreds of thousands of refugees could attempt to enter Israel.

The authors say that according to the 2013 data, an estimated 250,000 immigrants remained in Israel illegally. Additionally, thousands of Palestinians have entered Israel since 1967. The dangers of demographic turmoil taking place in neighboring countries could cause these numbers to grow significantly.

"Therefore, we must quickly prepare for new waves of immigration, in addition to those who have already entered Israel, mostly Palestinian and Arab immigrants from Syria, Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon," concluded Professor Sofer.

At a meeting with members of a large Israel Bonds delegation from the US, Canada, South America, and Europe, President Reuven Rivlin decried the growing anti-Semitism around the world. "Anti-Semitism is a disease that can reach all nations and spread all around the world,” Rivlin said. “I have met with many world leaders and I get the sense that anti-Semitism comes in a specific context, as a manifestation of extremism.”

A total of 80 people – fifty leaders of Bonds groups and 30 businesspeople who are strong supporters of Israel – met with Rivlin, who thanked them for their support of Israel. “Bonds have had a unique role in the growth of Israel and its transformation from an agricultural country to a modern global economy. Bonds contributed to making the desert bloom, to the construction of Israel's transportation infrastructure, the creation of new industries, the absorption of new immigrants, and increasing the export capacity of the country.”

Among those attending were members of a newly-formed Bonds delegation from Paris. That group, along with the other members of the mission, came to express their solidarity with Israel and Israelis, said Rivlin – and Israel appreciated it.

Israel, Rivlin said, does not stand alone, and “I felt this during Operation Protective Edge. Many of the leaders of the free world, as well as the heads of important movements and organizations around the world, stood shoulder to shoulder with Israel, expressing their support for the state's efforts and duty to protect its citizens, and identifying with our efforts to restore the quiet villages of the south.

“Many people are concerned with the damage caused in Gaza, Israelis experienced economic damage civilian casualties. The property damage, loss of work days, and damaged manufacturing capacity caused by Hamas terror cost us millions of dollars. The damage was much greater than it would have been were it not for the Iron Dome system. I'm glad to see your concern for the continued prosperity of Israel, and I urge you to further strengthen our relationship,” Rivlin added.
