Confusion In Europe

In Daniel chapter seven, Daniel had a vision of four wild beasts; each of these beasts represented a world empire which was yet future in Daniel’s day, with the exception of Babylon which had just come to power.

These four world empires represented, gentile dominion during the “times of the gentiles”, a time period in which Israel is set aside as a power in the world. These four empires were Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome.

In Daniel 7:7 we read the prophecy of the then coming Roman Empire. The verse describes what the Roman Empire would be like, the prophecy was amazingly accurate, as a study of history will confirm.

The very last phrase of the verse goes beyond the original Roman Empire and tells about another empire which would arise out of Rome. We read, “and it had 10 horns,” out of the territory, and out of the peoples, of the old Roman Empire another empire would arise, a revival of the old Roman Empire.

Today the EU has stated emphatically that, “We are the revived Roman Empire.” Bible prophecy has much to say about this final empire of the present age. Let us look at a few of these prophecies.

1. Its Makeup

“It had 10 horns,” Dan. 7:7. “A beast rises up of the sea … having 10 horns.” Rev. 13:1. “And the 10 horns which thou sawest are 10 kings,” Rev. 17:12. The revived Roman Empire will consist of 10 rulers, 10 nations or regions. Antichrist will arise and share power with the 10 kings for 3 ½ years. “… but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.” Rev. 17:12. That represents the first 3 ½ years of the tribulation period.

2. Its Inception

This final empire will not begin until two simultaneous events take place, the rise of the 10 kings and the rise of Antichrist, who will seize power over 3 kings. What we see in the EU today is not the revived Roman Empire, but the infrastructure or preparation for it. Notice, we do not see the 10 kings or nations or regions today and will not until the tribulation period begins.

3. Its Duration

“but receive power one hour with the beast,” Rev. 17:12. One hour is a very short duration for a kingdom to exist! Both Daniel and John indicate that this time will be 3 ½ years. Then at the mid-tribulation point, the revived Roman Empire will give way to the world-wide kingdom of Antichrist. “These have one mind and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.” Rev. 17:13.

4. Its Sudden Appearance

The 10 kings do not appear on the scene until the moment of the inception of the kingdom. “ten kings, who have received no power as yet, but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.” Rev. 17:12. Neither the 10 kings nor the 10 nations will be identified until the time of the inception of the kingdom.

5. Its Problem

As the 10 horns (or ten toes of Daniel 2) begin to surface, as the infrastructure begins to fall in place, a grievous problem surfaces. Dan. 2:40 tells that the Roman Empire will be as iron, strong and cohesive but when it comes to the revived Roman Empire, that cohesion and strength of unity will be lost. Dan. 2:31 tells us it will be like iron mixed with clay (pottery) it will not be cohesive. There will be no unity, no strength of purpose and action. (See Dan. 2: 42, 43)

Today it is amazing how that prophecy is being fulfilled in the EU. The EU has been consistently plagued with disunity at every turn. They are stalemated almost at every turn. In Europe it is a constant point of humour.

They have totally lacked strong leadership and singleness of purpose. They have been crying out for strong leadership for over fifty years now.

That leadership will not be forthcoming until Antichrist appears upon the scene and forcibly takes charge (Dan. 7:24).

Before that happens, the Trumpet will Sound and we will go home!

Dallas Theological Seminary

Dallas Theological Seminary is probably the most shocking example of how the enemy is invading our Bible-teaching institutions. Not too long ago, DTS was the Mecca of education concerning end-time prophecy. I don’t know how long the process took, but one day it was revealed that the faculty of DTS no longer believed that prophecy was being fulfilled today. The school has become overrun by progressive dispensationalism, a doctrine that says there will be no future kingdom on earth, and it considers modern Israel to be the work of man and not of God. It also has no need for a pre-trib rapture. Recently, there was a big controversy at DTS when it was revealed that a professor at DTS no longer believed the Bible was divinely inspired.

I don’t mean to just single out DTS. This same type of nonsense has infected Moody Bible Institute, Talbot Seminary, Biola College, Dallas Baptist University and a number of other Bible Colleges.

Free to be a Servant

“Understanding what the will of the Lord is” Ephesians 5:17

Every man in a free society must decide whether he will exploit his liberty, or curtail it for moral and intelligent ends. He may take upon him the responsibility of business and a family, or he may shun all obligations and end on Skid Row. The tramp is freer than president or king, but his freedom is his undoing. While he lives he remains socially sterile and when he dies he leaves nothing to make the world glad he lived.

The Christian cannot escape the peril of too much liberty. He is indeed free, but his very freedom may prove a source of real temptation to him. He is free from the chains of sin, free from the moral consequences of evil acts now forgiven, free from the curse of the law and the displeasure of God.

The ideal Christian is one who knows he is free to do as he will – and wills to be a servant. This is the path Christ took: blessed is the man who follows Him.

Ominous Signs

I have worked hard at appearing not to be a radical or an extremist. I do this knowing that to appear as such would result in the loss of a hearing from many people. This task grows harder and harder as the days go by, as unprecedented, momentous events are happening almost daily!

I want to deal with a scenario which is developing beyond the attention of most people. Several years ago the phrase, “North American Security Zone” was introduced. The phrase is fraught with suggestion of North American union.

For some time now, the US dollar has been in jeopardy. The US must borrow one billion dollars every day to pay the interest on the national debt. That money comes from countries such as Saudi Arabia, China, India and others. The fact is that the US dollar has no backing behind it of any kind. The only thing that sustains it is the confidence nations place in it. If that confidence were lost, the US dollar and the US economy would collapse. We know that countries like Iran and Venezuela and possibly others are working and scheming to bring down the US dollar.

It is perhaps not without significance that the term “Amero dollar” has popped up repeatedly. The suggestion is that Canada, the US and Mexico adopt a new common currency.

On September 30, 2007 a powerful think tank consisting of Senator Sam Nunn, Kissinger, Brezinski, Armitage, Cohen, Brown and other powerful, influential men will present to Ottawa, Washington D.C. and Mexico City a final report on the integration of Canada, the United States and Mexico into one political, economic and security block. That’s North American union.

Remember the words of David Rockefeller, “we are on the verge of a global transformation, all we need is the right major crisis.”

Last may President Bush signed a directive granting extraordinary powers to the office of the President in the event of a declaration of national emergency, apparently without congressional approval or oversight.

It is possible that a crisis could come or be provoked, which would cause people to allow what, at this moment, they would not tolerate, a North American union.

This could be a pattern which would, on the basis of great crisis bring about World Government.

President Bush recently signed an agreement creating a “permanent body” which commits the US to “deeper transatlantic economic integration”. This was done without ratification by the Senate or passage by Congressional law.

There seems almost no resistance to these monumental encroaching changes in our society. It seems to be the spirit of the age that neither politicians on the right nor politicians on the left will be in opposition.

It also seems that if the right crisis arose, that almost overnight a World Government could become a reality. We can only speculate what might cause such a crisis. Could it be the economic collapse, now looming on the horizon for the US dollar and perhaps for the world? This could be manipulated by the right people, those desiring world government. Could it be a devastating nuclear terrorist attack, a nuclear exchange by several nations? Could it be an oil crisis provoked by war in the mid-east which could bring nations and economics to their knees? Could it be the rapture of the church perhaps accompanied by natural disaster?

Perhaps a combination of all of these events would provide a stage for Antichrist to appear out of the EU to lead the world into a false peace and a temporary reconciliation.

What seems almost certain is that the church is about to go home. Are you ready?

For some time now the drive has been on to gather great crowds into the church. The problem is not with the great crowds, but rather with who these people are, why they are in the church and what is being done with them. If their ears are being tickled with a neutral message in a contemporary worldly environment, and they are being entertained to hold them and bring them back, then a crowd is not good!

If our ministry is to fill the church with tares we are doing the devil’s work, not God’s.

Jesus said, “the field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; the enemy that sowed them is the devil;” Clearly, to bring the tares in among the wheat is to do the devil’s work. The unregenerate do not belong in the fellowship of the saints; it is believers who need to be added to the fellowship of the church. (See Acts 5: 13, 14). They said don’t go near that church crowd if you sin, you’ll die the way Annanias and Sapphira did.

The plea is echoed again and again, we must update the church from the 19th century and from the 20th century to the 21st century. It sounds good at first, but let’s be honest, what they are saying is that the church must conform to the world and its lifestyle and methods. We must fill the church with people by breaking down the difference between the church and the world. If we make the church like the world in its music, its electronic devices, its décor, its dress and its cultural styles, then great crowds will come.

In “The Purpose Driven Church”, a gospel of easy-believism is proclaimed and professions are made, and tares are confirmed as members of the church. (See Matt 7: 21-23).

Easy-believism says, “believe, believe, just believe in Jesus”. Just believing has never saved anyone and never will. James says in chapter 2 verse 19 “… the devils also believe and tremble,” but of course they are not saved.

It seems that the end result of the Purpose Driven Church is to fill the church with tares, we repeat; this is the work of the devil.

When the Purpose Driven Pastor implies that he is right because his church is full and professions of faith are being made and that you must be wrong because you only have and handful: Be discerning.

To bring the unregenerate into the fellowship of the saints is to bring leaven into the church. Jesus said, “The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened,” Matt. 13:33. The Pastor, who brings tares into the worship and fellowship of the church, will also bring leaven into the church, and it will destroy the whole church.

To the faithful Pastors who have not fallen in love with the ways of the world, and who are being true to the Biblical pattern for the church, remember the words of Jesus. “Be thou faithful unto death and I will give you a crown of life.”

I would remind you of what Jesus also said about you and your small churches, “fear not little flock, for it is your Fathers good pleasure to give unto you the kingdom.” Luke 12:32.

I started this article with the words “the problem is not with great crowds”, if you are a Pastor of a large church, and you and the church are being faithful to God’s Word, we rejoice with you and praise the Lord for what He is doing in your midst.

The Noose Continues to Tighten Around Israel's Neck

In lightening like fashion, Hamas has overrun Gaza, and set up an Islamic state. Gaza is now really a puppet state of Iran who financed the whole operation. Iran intends to use Gaza to accomplish their oft stated goal, the destruction of Israel.

In Lebanon, Syria is preparing Hezbollah to take over Lebanon in the same way and for the same purpose.

Now Hezbollah from the north and Hamas from the south are firing missiles into Israel.

Even more alarming is the way Syria is openly preparing her powerful war machine to attack Israel. A Syrian MP, Muhammed Habash stated on Al Jazzera TV that Syria is actively preparing for war with Israel. He said war is expected to breakout this summer.

If an all out attack should occur, don’t rule out the possibility that Israel will use nuclear weapons against Syria and against Iran’s nuclear facilities. That would change the whole mid-east equation and would be grounds for the great coming false peace treaty of Antichrist. The situation is real; my interpretation of what might happen is speculation.

In the past year there has been a major shift in alliances. We see Turkey moving away from EU membership and entering into an alliance with Russia, Iran and Syria. More recently we see Sudan and Libya entering into this alliance. That is the exact alliance found in Ezekiel 38 and 39. This alliance will, early in the tribulation period, seek to destroy Israel. That is the stated goal of the alliance we now see forming.

In the background, China is quickly and quietly becoming a Super-power, both militarily and economically, being readied to play her part in the battle of Armageddon.

Yet, the most worrisome situation of the last few days is America’s declaration that she will be an enemy of the bad Palestinians (Hamas) and a friend of the good Palestinians (Fatah). President Bush has declared again, his determination to reward the Palestinians (Fatah) with an independent state in the West Bank, which is Israel’s land, promised to them by God forever. America is rushing toward the judgment of God!

Christian get ready! Don’t be ashamed before the Lord when the trumpet sounds. 1 John 2:28 “And now, little children, abide in Him; that, when He shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.”

Get your eyes off the things of this world and get them focused on the Lord.

George Bush and the EU leaders are pushing a plan to make Tony Blair the mid-east peace envoy representing the US, Russia, the UN and the EU. He would be responsible to ready the Palestinian economy and government structure in preparation for a Palestinian state.

Nicolas Sarkozy, President of France is promoting Tony Blair as the first permanent President of the EU.

Mr. Blair met with the Pope on June 23 amid persistent rumors that he is in the process of becoming a Roman Catholic. He is certainly an interesting man!
