U.S. Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice has vowed to establish a Palestinian State and bring peace to the Mid East. The UN. and the E.U. are committed to the same goal. Ehud Olmert and Mahmoud Abbas have been struggling to come up with an agreement to establish a Palestinian State and enter into a Peace Agreement.
A conference is planned for November or December in the U.S. in which all interested parties are invited to attend. It seems that a Peace Agreement is about to be reached.
The other side of the story is that there are powerful forces that do not want a Peace Agreement.
Hezbollah are being re-armed on Israel's northern border in Lebanon, they will not accept any Peace Agreement with Israel, so there will not be peace.
Hamas are building an army in the Gaza Strip and are preparing to attack Israel, they will not accept peace with Israel, so there will not be peace.
But the most serious threat to peace is the impending coup or takeover of the West Bank by Hamas.
The WND Jerusalem Bureau reports, "Hamas is setting the stage for a takeover of the West Bank similar to the coup in which they seized control of the Gaza Strip.
The report continued, "Fatah will fall in a matter of weeks at most, and Islam (Hamas) will reign in the West Bank just as we do in Gaza," said Abu Abdullah.
Fatah has admitted that they are not strong enough to resist Hamas.
Hamas is thought to have heavily infiltrated all major Fatah forces in the West Bank, and has attempted to buy off Fatah Militia members, many times sucessfully. Reports are coming in that many Fatah fighters are deserting to join al-Qaida.
Senior Abbas Aide, Nabil AMR, admitted Fatah Security Forces are in "a state of infiltration" by Hamas. Earlier this week Nizar Rayyan, a senior Hamas Leader, stated Hamas will soon control Abbas' office in the West Bank.
If Israel signs a Peace Agreement with the Abbas and his Fatah group, and Hamas deposes him and replaces him, that Peace Agreement will be meaningless.
Peace in the Middle East is no nearer than it has ever been, the Western Nations are deluded.
There will not be a binding Peace Agreement in the Mid East until Anti Christ appears on the scene, then a Peace Agreement will be signed, but it will be for Israel and the world, a false peace.
"For when they say, Peace and Safety then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." l Thess. 5:3 "For they healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, Peace, when there is no peace." Jer. 8:11.
