Injunction May Be Issued on New York Gun Law, Thousands Rally in State’s Capital
The lawsuit against New York’s most recent gun law is making national headlines, and prompting doubts in the state’s Supreme Court. A Supreme Court Justice ordered the state to justify the constitutionality of the NY SAFE Act yesterday, which was passed under the guidance of Governor Andrew Cuomo last month. The state has until Friday, April 29 to respond to the order or an injunction will be placed on the SAFE Act. It could prove to be a monumental victory for the gun owners’ associations behind the lawsuit.

Titanic II: Billionaire launches plans for replica of doomed ship
Clive Palmer unveiled blueprints for the famously doomed ship's namesake Tuesday at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York. He said construction is scheduled to start soon in China. Palmer said 40,000 people have expressed interest in tickets for the maiden voyage, taking the original course from Southampton, England, to New York. He said people are inspired by his quest to replicate one of the most famous vessels in history.

At least 44 people have been killed in Bangladesh in a wave of violence sparked by a special tribunal's decision to sentence a top Islamist opposition leader to death. Reports Friday said the latest deaths took place in Gainbandha district, after two days of clashes between protesters and police. The protests were expected to continue after Friday prayers

New US Secretary of State John Kerry is visiting Turkey for talks expected to focus on the conflict in Syria. The two Nato allies both oppose Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, but differ on how best to support the opposition. On Thursday Mr Kerry promised direct aid to Syrian rebels in the form of food and medical supplies, but not the weapons they say they need to win.
