“Revelation 6: 1,2 Pt. #1”

As we come to chapter 6, the appointed time has come.

Now in verse one, the Day of Vengence begins. Christ is about to begin to pour out His wrath upon the world to defeat Satan and his kingdom of this world.

John says: "And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals," the first seal is opened and the first of a series of judgments takes place. The first cherub (beast or living creature) speaks with "the noise of thunder."

Thunder speaks of a storm, and this is a storm of judgment. Notice the invitation to John to observe this first judgment, "Come and See." John responds in Verse 2, "And I saw." John, as it were, looked over the parapets of Heaven and viewed what was going on in the earth as this first judgment is poured out.

John sees the first of four horses; each horse has a rider, the same rider in four different aspects of his career. "Behold a white horse," Notice, "and he that sat on him had a bow, and a crown was given unto Him."

Who is this rider on the white horse?  It is not the Lord Jesus, He is in heaven casting down this first seal judgment upon the earth. In Rev. 19:11, we see Christ riding on a white horse.  A rider on a white horse symbolizes a conqueror. This rider on the white horse in Rev. 6, is an imitation Christ. This is the counterfeit Christ, the antichrist, who comes to conquer the earth.

Notice he "had a bow," he has no arrows: he is not going to war or to battle. Notice what is happening, "a crown was given unto him," he is a victor on a white horse," He went forth conquering and to conquer." He conquers without a battle, He takes over the world without firing a shot. Daniel says, "by peace he shall destroy many." Paul said, "Peace and safety; then sudden destruction."

How does he do that? What will be the scenario in the world that will enable him to do that?  We do not have to guess, the Scripture tells us the scenario. "Wars and Rumors of wars," Mt. 24:6. "For nation shall rise against nation and Kingdom against Kingdom" vs.7.

Before Antichrist comes to power there will be a sudden rise in hostilities around the world. Wars will explode all over the place. Nuclear exchanges?  Possibly the U.S. against Iran? Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas against Israel?  Israel against Syria and her allies?  Perhaps Pakistan against India?  Perhaps China against India? Perhaps war in the Balkans?  North Korea against South Korea?  We do not know the details of this scenario, but evidently the whole world will explode in huge conflagrations.

Terrorists with nuclear and biological weapons running all over the place?  Panic, distress and turmoil will bring the world to the brink of despair.

At that precise moment a seeming savior will come riding onto the world stage. He begins to talk; my how he can talk! Give me your armies; put them under my control. "Give me your police forces; put them under my control and I'll restore peace to the earth; I'll make the earth one big happy place and we'll all be one." The world will be so desperate that they will agree.

There will be a peace conference to end all peace conferences. The whole world will participate; war will be outlawed. This false messiah will control all of the weapons of war; war will now seem impossible.

The euphoria of this new and seeming final peace will sweep the world (see 1 Thess. 5:3).  All through the charisma and flatteries of the antichrist; the world will be impressed. He will demonstrate "signs and lying wonders;" the world will be deceived.

He will have special powers given to him by Satan himself.  He will perform miracles, signs and amazing wonders,  with all "deceivableness of unrighteousness," vs.10. He will deceive men with his false philosophies. "God shall send strong delusion that they should believe a lie" (vs. 11).

The acceptance of these false philosophies of the devil will result in damnation (see 2 Thess. 2:12).

This great peace initiative will be led by antichrist who will be the leader of the Revived Roman Empire. ( Dan. 9:26)  He will gain the allegiance of the New Ecumenical Worldwide Union of all religions. He will forge a vast political/commercial/religious alliance designed to dominate world affairs.

We see in 1 Thess. 5:3 the attitude that will prevail as this rider on the white horse comes upon the scene.

A great euphoria will sweep over the world as this wise, dynamic, charistmatic, benevolent, powerful, wonder working leader seems to offer the world and its citizens all they have hoped for in their wildest dreams.

The stage is now being set for this man of sin to come on the scene, but before that can happen the church will be caught up to its eternal home, and be with Christ forever.

We can see the stage being set for this end time scenario to take place.
