“Peace, peace and there is no peace”
by Art Sadlier
March 24th, 2008

At this point, all of the efforts to eatablish peace in the mid east are like dust on a windy street.

A recent Palestinian Authority poll shows 84% of PA Arabs approve of the massacre at Merkaz Ha Rav Yeshiva in Jerusalem, where eight students were shot to death and ten wounded.

A second poll indicates that 64% of PA Arabs support the rocket attacks on Iraeli cities and towns. Those who oppose the attacks do so on the grounds of strategiac considerations, rather than moral grounds.

Another poll indicates that 65% of Israeli's oppose any further withdrawals from territory now controlled, it no longer makes sense to make concessions to those who will only use them to be better positioned to attempt to destroy you.

On March 23, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli opposition leader, warned that any withdrawal from Jerusalem or the West Bank would lead to the creation of an Iranian base in the heart of Israel.

He went on to say, the Iranian threat must be nuetralized before it arms itself with a nuclear bomb. In addition, Iran must be prevented from building its main bases in the region, from Gaza to Lebanon, and particularily in Jerusalem, he said.

Al Qaeda has declared war on Jews everywhere, Al Qaeda deputy leader, Ayman al-Zawahri urged followers in an audio recording published on one of the group's websites on Monday to hunt down and kill Jews and Americans wherever they can be found.

We must realize that this mindset is not just the mindset of Al Qaeda, but the mindset ofa vast majorityof Islam in the mid east.

Only an ostrich can fail to see, that there will be no true peace in the mid east at this point in time. There will be no true peace in the mid east until the Prince of Peace comes at Armageddon to judge the nations and establish his glorious kingdom. (See Luke 1:32,33 - Isaiah 11:1-10)

There will be a false peace that a false messiah will bring, after the rapture of the church. (See Daniel 9:26,27 - 2 Thess. 2:1-3)

Paul says three things about the false peace in 1 Thess. 5:1-3

FIRST.....He says it is related to the Day of the Lord, the tribulation period.

SECOND.....It will be a promise of peace that will be widely proclaimed.

THIRD.....The proclamation will be quickly succeeded by sudden destruction.

The fact that so much energy and time and effort is being expended on a mid east peace is surely an indication of the nearness of the Sound of the Trumpet!
